Placement and Accessibility: Install boxes in dry, well-ventilated areas at a height typically between 1.5 to 1.8 meters for easy operation and inspection. Ensure adequate working space around the box for maintenance and safety . Internal Components: Inside the box, include circuit breakers (MCBs), residual-current devices (RCCBs/RCBOs), fuses, surge protective devices, busbars, neutral and earth bars. The layout should allow neat wiring, proper heat dissipation, and future expansion . Wiring and Safety: Use high-temperature resistant copper wires with cross-sectional areas suitable for the load. Ensure proper insulation, secure grounding, and reliable connection of protective neutral wires. All cable entries and cover joints should be sealed to prevent exposure . Protective Devices: Each circuit should have appropriate protection. Options include MCBs for overcurrent, RCCBs for earth leakage, RCBOs for combined protection, and surge protection devices. Selection depends on load, criticality, and local regulations .
