  • Double-pole breakers (typically 240V) occupy two slots but still count as one circuit.
  • Three-phase breakers occupy three slots and should also be counted as one circuit . 3. Include Spare Ways: Some distribution boxes have empty slots for future expansion. While these are not active circuits, noting them helps plan for additional loads . 4. Consider Circuit Types:
  • Lighting circuits are usually 15A or 20A single-pole breakers.
